Battleship Trip - Feb 20 and 21

Our Battleship trip was Feb 20 and 21st. We had 24 Scouts and 8 adults. We left Lovettsville about 8:45 and arrived at the Philadelphia Waterford about 12PM. We visited the two ships there and the Seaport Museum. One ship was the battleship Olympia launched in 1892 and served as the flagship for Commodore Dewey in the Battle of Manila Bay in the Spanish American War. The other ship was the submarine Becuna which was launched in Jan 1944 and was in service until 1969. We then walked to Campos for our cheesesteaks which were great! From there we visited Christ Church where Ben Franklin and George Washington and other leaders in the Revolutionary War worshipped. We then went on to Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. From there we walked back to our cars and then to the Battleship New Jersey. The food was OK and tour of ship was great and included the TV studio. On Sunday we toured Simeone Foundation Car Museum (http://www.simeonefoundation.org/?page_id=10) to see some great race cars. We arrived back at Lovettsville about 5PM.
