Instructions for Becoming a Merit Badge Counselor PDF Print E-mail

To become a Merit Badge Counselor, you need to complete an Adult Application (attached).  For Position Code, enter "42" and Scouting Position, enter "Merit Badge Counselor".   You need to complete this form even if you have registered already.

Then, you must complete the Merit Badge Counselor Information Sheet (attached).  The Sheet lists the Merit Badges that you are applying for and asks for information of your qualifications of each.

When completed, please provide to John Burke, Merit Badge Counselor Coordinator.  The Troop will review the application and if ok, will sign and submit to District for approval. 

You will be notified when your application has been approved.

In 2000 I set out to document my ancestry. My maternal grandmother was the youngest of 10 children of poor "Hungarian" immigrants from "near Budapest", or so she had told me. She said that any Milleker I find in the world I am related to. I decided to start with that branch of my family tree.
Working from a ship's passenger document that belonged to my great-grandmother, Katarina Milleker, I found a faint penciled "T. Kutas" listed as her town or origin. After a bit of searching on the web I solved the puzzle: she was from a small town called "Temes Kutas" in the southern Banat region of Hungary. The hunt was on.
